Your ultimate companion to the movie event of the summer is here! Marking the momentous release of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the premiere issue of Indiana Jones: The Official Magazine takes you behind the scenes on the production of Indy’s brand new adventure.
An incredible 26 years since audiences first discovered Indiana Jones, the legendary movie franchise finally has the magazine companion it so richly deserves. Indy’s new adventure takes center stage in this 100-page special issue, but in the future we’ll uncover all the secrets of Indiana Jones’ illustrious history – at the cinema, and beyond! The adventure starts here…
Meet the Cast
Talk about a line-up! The full cast of wonderful actors behind Indy’s latest enemies and allies assemble to talk to Indiana Jones: The Official Magazine, including Harrison Ford, Karen Allen (Marion Ravenwood), Shia LaBeouf (Mutt Williams), Cate Blanchett (Irina Spalko) and Ray Winstone (Mac).
Welcome to the Adventure
Indiana Jones: The Official Magazine brings you the full story of the making of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It’s been 19 years since the world’s most famous archaeologist rode off into the Turkish sunset in his previous big screen adventure, so why the long wait? Director Steven Spielberg, executive producer George Lucas, and star Harrison Ford explain why it is the right time for the man in the hat to embark on an all-new quest.
Creating the Magic
We speak to the creative forces who are bringing Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to the screen, including screenwriter David Koepp, production designer Guy Hendrix Dyas, location manager Mike Fantasia, costume designers Bernie Pollack and Mary Zophres and stunt coordinator Gary Powell. Plus, check out concept art and storyboard images visualized by the film’s talented graphic artists before the cameras even started rolling.
Indy Memories
We’ll be covering Indy’s action-packed past in future issues of Indiana Jones: The Official Magazine, but there’s a taster in this inaugural issue as the cast and crew of the new movie look back at their favorite Indy memories. A misty-eyed Ray Winstone recalls: “My favorite film is The Last Crusade and not just because Sean Connery is in it. It was the first one that actually tugged at my heartstrings. I remember at the end with the old knight who had been there for hundreds and hundreds of years and I actually started crying.’
