GET THE INSIDE TRACK!

A long time ago a movie legend was born. And, more recently, Star Wars Insider was created in its honor. From the first film to all of Star Wars’ modern guises, Star Wars Insider is the ultimate fan resource: as vital to all true fans as the Mos Eisley cantina is to all the scum and villainy of the galaxy.

Mark Hamill interviewed!

The 30th anniversary celebrations continue in the latest issue, and the centerpiece is a new interview with Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill! While we look back with Mark, we also look forward – actor Sam Witwer lifts the lid on the latest chapter in the Star Wars saga, the videogame The Force Unleashed!

LUKE & LEIA!

It’s well known that Mark Hamill is rarely interviewed about his Star Wars experiences, but the official magazine offers you coverage that’s second to none! In this issue, Mark sits down one-on-one to discuss his Force-filled memories. Plus, some selected highlights from actress Carrie Fisher’s appearance at Celebration IV!

The FORCE UNLEASHED!

You’ve seen the trailer and heard the rumblings, but only Star Wars Insider can bring you the latest on the exciting next chapter of the Star Wars saga! In Star Wars: The Force Unleashed you play as Darth Vader’s “Secret Apprentice” in a storyline that promises new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy, taking place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, and filling a largely unexplored narrative gap. We get the lowdown from LucasArts project lead Haden Blackman and “Secret Apprentice” actor Sam Witwer.

ART VADER!

As one of the most identifiable characters in cinema history, it’s no surprise that Darth Vader serves as a muse to pop surrealists, toy designers, and underground artists such as Shag, Tim Biskup, Frank Kozik, Marc Ecko, Amanda Visell, J. Otto Seibold, and Jeff Soto in The Vader Project, one of the coolest Star Wars tributes to invade the art world. A lucky few (well, thousands, actually!) saw this unique exhibition of Vader helmet art at this summer’s Star Wars Celebrations. Now it’s your chance to see the art and meet the artists!

Pirates of the Boards

We examine Joe Johnston’s early Star Wars storyboards (circa October-December 1975), as notated by effects photographer Richard Edlund. In the penultimate part of our exclusive series, Johnston’s storyboards reveal the on-again-off-again fate of Red Leader, following the trench run on the Death Star’s vulnerable exhaust port. We see how, in between the third and fourth draft, George Lucas considered having Red Leader reach his objective – and miss! Then he’d get blown into smithereens!
